Prior to joining The Benchmark Company, Edward was the founder and President of RMA Venture Group, an advisory firm focusing on cross-border transactions primarily between enterprises in China and companies in North America, the former Soviet Union, and the Middle East. Before establishing RMA, Edward was co-founder and CEO of Rodman & Renshaw. During his ten-year tenure at Rodman, the firm completed over 570 financings and raised over $14 billion for companies in various sectors, including healthcare, technology, oil & gas, metals & mining, and alternative energy, and across multiple regions, including the US, Europe, and China. Prior to co-founding Rodman, Edward was a senior investment banker at Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. and Jesup & Lamont Securities Corp. Before becoming an investment banker, Edward practiced corporate and securities law in New York. During his legal career, Edward was assistant general counsel for NCH Capital, an investment fund specializing in investments in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. He was also an associate in two law firms in New York, Friedman & Kaplan and Coudert Brothers.
Edward received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.A. from Baruch College, City University of New York.
